I bought my house two years ago by some minor financial miracle. About six weeks after I got the keys, I decided there was no time like the present (late Autumn) to rip all the plaster off the walls and leave myself with no heat or hot water. It was a waking dream. Luckily, the wonderful Kirstie McDermott from House and Home asked to me to write a column to document my adventures in renovation so there was silver lining all over the place.
